We really enjoy helping our clients feel comfortable in front of the camera so don't be worried or nervous. We will direct, guide and walk you through the entire process. If you have an idea or something you think would be epic during your session we are up for anything! Don't forget to come with an open mind and sense of adventure so we can make some awesome photos. Crafting Your Wedding Photography Timeline
While those beautiful wedding photos you see on Instagram and Pinterest look totally effortless, there's actually a whole lot of work going on behind the scenes to ensure they're just right.
Just like your wedding takes a lot of planning and forethought, getting the shots you want does as well.
Ninety days before your wedding, we will reach out to you with a questionnaire for you to fill out with all of the special details relating to your day. From this questionnaire, we will work together to craft your personalized timeline for your wedding day.
CAPTURING THE SPECIAL DETAILS
We will start our day with detail shots. With the bride, we will take photos of details like the flowers, shoes, accessories, perfume, and dress. We will capture all of the thoughtful touches that you have carefully curated to make your day special.
Please let us know what these special items are ahead of time so that we can be sure to capture them!
With two photographers, we are also able to capture groom’s details.
Tips:
- Have all the little details you want photographed untagged and ready to go for your photographer before they arrive in one box together.
Some things to include are:
Complete invitation suite (Save the Date, Invitation, Enclosure Card(s), Envelope, Accessories)
Bridal Accessories (earrings, perfume, necklaces, shoes, etc)
Groom’s Accessories (cufflinks, socks, watch, tie pin, etc)
All three wedding rings
Wedding vow books
Wedding Program or other paper accessories
Special Keepsakes or heirlooms
*If you have to photographers, the groom’s accessories should be with the groom.
If you’re looking for more information about what the details portion of the day looks like, you can read more about it here.
Exchanging letters for your video
After watching even the first minute of this wedding film, you should understand how meaningful it is to exchange letters before your ceremony. First, it sets the mood for the whole day! It fills you up with excitement and makes you eager to walk down the aisle and say, “I do”. Whether you have photo only or video too, getting these moments captured is an experience that you want captured!
Writing letters allows you to be there for one another before your ceremony and let your significant other know how excited you are to marry them. It definitely is a tear-jerking experience that you will always remember!
The First Look
What is a first look? First looks are a new modern tradition where you get to see your fiancé before the ceremony. Getting to see one other in the amazing white dress and the spiffy black tuxedo is a memorable experience, one that might be more enjoyable spent alone. If you’re on the fence about a first look, that’s okay! In the end, it’s completely up to you, but here are a few reasons why we love first looks!
First looks are great way to spend quality time with your soon-to-be spouse before the ceremony. We are able to take all of your bride and groom and wedding party portraits prior to the ceremony so that you can attend and enjoy your cocktail hour. It’s a low pressure way to get out some of the nerves of the day and soak up all of the joy of the commitment you are about to make.
The Father-Daughter First Look
The Father-Daughter First Look is such a special and memorable experience that you want captured! The moment your Dad sees you for the first time with your hair, makeup, dress, and that gorgeous smile of yours; it’s one for the books. Getting to document this once in a lifetime experience, is one of our favorite things and we hope it will be yours too!
Church & Venue Rules
Some venues have rules that prevent photographers from going in certain areas, moving items, or using flash. Please reach out to your venue staff to ask if they have any restrictions for photography and communicate those requirements with us. Most commonly, churches have photographer and videographer restrictions, so it’s very important for us to be aware of those.
The Family Portrait List
Family Portraits are so important on your wedding day. Many people travel to come help you celebrate and for many families it’s a time when everyone can be together. Documenting those special and rare moments will only enhance your wedding day. Below is a sample bride and groom family list that will help guide you in choosing who you want in your family portraits and this way we can just read off the list to make these portrait transitions easy-breezy!

It is very important to include the names of your relatives so that we can use their names when requesting them to join the group for a photo.

Sunset Portraits
All photos taken on your wedding day are important but the photos we take of just the two of you are ones are the ones that you will always remember. We love taking sunset photos because it’s a moment for the two of you to be together on your own. The lighting is stunning, and the photos turn out gorgeous. We typically sneak out about 45 minutes before true sunset to capture that Golden Hour lighting. They only take about 15 minutes, but the memories last a lifetime.
Rainy Wedding Days
They say rain is good luck on your wedding day! Although we know you’d prefer a sunny wedding day, do not panic if it does rain. Some of the best weddings happen on rainy days and we can get amazing photos!
Be sure to take precautions, especially with your venue. Make sure that there is a rain plan in place in case it does decide to rain on your outdoor wedding ceremony.
As for the photos, we have it handled! We will be sure to do extra scouting in case it does rain, to make sure we have the best possible locations. We are also prepared for any lighting situations if it gets cloudy or if we have to go inside for photos. There is no need to worry.
If it is just a light rain, we are still happy to shoot outside with umbrellas! If this interests you, we encourage you to have some clear umbrellas on hand.
The Grand Exit
Ending your wedding day with a grand exit is a great way to finish up your special day. However sometimes due to time constrictions your photographer can’t stay till the very end of the night. One option is to do a faux exit with your wedding party or guests to capture this moment before your photographer leaves!
We love mixing up the classic sparkler exit with glow sticks, streamers, confetti, or anything else you may want to incorporate. A sunset exit is also a beautiful moment in golden hour lighting if you’d like to have your reception conclude earlier in the evening.
The day is such a whirlwind of events. Take a moment before you exit the reception to soak in and reflect. Doing a private last dance is a great opportunity to spend a couple quiet moments with your new spouse. It’s such a wonderfully intimate moment for the photographer to capture.
Your Gallery Reveal
Your wedding photos will be ready in 6-8 weeks from your wedding date, and a sneak peek within two weeks! If you booked our video team, your wedding video will be ready within 10 weeks. We always strive to beat these deadlines, however, sometimes in the busy season we do need the entire time to deliver. Your digital gallery will be up for 1 year from your wedding date.
Creating Your First Heirloom
We'd love to help you preserve your family's history. It may take 60 minutes to pick out your favorite photos for an album, but I promise they will be treasured forever. Let me know when may be a good time to jump on a call or schedule yourself below.
