Washington, D.C., like any great city, provides almost endless beautiful and magnificent wedding venues. However, D.C. offers something the others do not. There’s a certain history, a certain elegance and a little bit of dramatic flair that can be found in the wedding venues of the nation’s capitol. The streets themselves even beckon for a few timeless wedding photos (a call we gladly followed).
The Washington, D.C. Wedding
This wedding was spread across several venues. We started out capturing the calm before the storm – the getting-ready moments – at the lovely Phoenix Park Hotel.
Then it was off to St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Capitol Hill, a gorgeous ceremony space. However, the form of transportation for the day was photo-worthy all by itself, with a trolley transporting family and friends alike!
The cocktail hour and reception were held at Capitol View, where the jaw-dropping views only added to the beauty of the newlyweds.
The Bride and Groom
Rob and Malia, then a junior and freshman in college, met at the Fall NU Catholic Center Retreat in 2012. On a dare, Malia introduced herself to Rob, and the rest was history. He proposed three years later in the same spot where they had their first date. The two now live in Fredericksburg, Va.
